Made with fest.club

We checked 242 small-town festivals.

Every July festival in the 2026 Iowa festival guide and every September festival in the Kansas guide, one by one, in November 2026.

  • 79%

had no website of their own.

  • 46%

lived only on Facebook or Instagram.

  • 0 of 10

festival homepages we checked took vendor booth payments online or listed sponsor prices.

  • 2015

was still the date on one festival's homepage.

How we counted

We classified every festival listed in the July section of FestivalGuidesAndReviews.com's 2026 Iowa guide (118) and the September section of its Kansas guide (124) by its main web presence, starting from the link the guide gives and then searching every 8th entry for a site of its own (none of the 16 entries searched had one the guide missed). Across 242 unique festivals: 52 (21.5%) had their own domain, 77 (31.8%) had only a sub-page on a city, chamber or host organization's site, 112 (46.3%) lived only on Facebook or Instagram, and 1 (0.4%) had only a radio listing. In total, 190 of 242 (78.5%, 95% Wilson confidence interval 72.9% to 83.2%, about plus or minus 5 points) had no website of their own; this is a two-state census, not a national figure. For the 10-site check, we inspected the homepages of 6 own-domain festivals from the Iowa and Kansas guides plus 4 own-domain community Porchfests from Wikipedia's North American Porchfest list: 0 of 10 homepages processed vendor booth fees online or published sponsor package prices (one had a food-truck form without payment, one a contact-form checkbox; vendor or sponsor sub-pages linked from several homepages were not opened, so prices may sit there).

$0 up front. Build the whole festival before you pay anything.

Vendor application fees and your first sponsor slot count toward your pass, so many festivals never pay out of pocket.

How it works: vendors pay a non-refundable $2.50 application fee to fest.club when they apply, shown in their total. It counts toward your pass and stops automatically once your pass is covered (or if you pay the pass up front). If you sell a sponsor slot through fest.club, the sponsor pays into your Stripe account and any remaining pass balance comes out of that payment once. Nothing is charged to you until your festival page is live.

Built to answer your treasurer's questions.

The money is yours

Tickets, booths and sponsorships are paid straight into your own Stripe account. You are the seller of record. We never hold your funds.

Full prices, up front

Every ticket and booth shows its total, fees included, on the first screen (as the FTC's all-in pricing rule, 16 CFR Part 464, requires). No resale marketplace, no surprise fees at checkout.

Paperwork checked, not certified

We check vendor documents are complete and track expiry dates. Your team makes the call, and the record says Organizer reviewed.

Readable by everyone

Schedules and forms are built to meet WCAG 2.2 AA in plain HTML, with no accessibility overlay widgets, and stay legible in bright sun.

Questions committees ask

Do attendees need to download an app?

No. Your festival is a web link. Attendees save the sets they want, the schedule stays cached on their phone when cell service drops, and they can save a 1080×1920 lock-screen poster PNG in one tap.

Who holds the ticket money?

You do. Sales go straight to your own Stripe account and you are the seller of record. fest.club never holds your funds and takes 0% of ticket sales.

Do we need a nonprofit or business to sell tickets?

Free festivals and RSVP-only events need no Stripe account at all. To collect paid tickets, vendor booth fees or sponsorships, you connect a Stripe account in the name of an individual, nonprofit, fiscal sponsor or municipality. Refunds, chargebacks and any applicable sales tax are handled by that account under your own refund policy.

Who gets the $2.50 vendor fee?

fest.club. Vendors pay a non-refundable $2.50 application fee when they apply, and it is always included in the all-in total they see up front. It counts toward your festival pass and stops automatically once your pass balance reaches $0 (or if you pay the pass up front). Accepted vendors pay their booth fee straight to your Stripe account; rejected vendors are never charged the booth fee.

Do you verify vendor insurance?

We check that uploaded files are present and remind vendors before expiration dates. We never verify or certify insurance coverage, policy endorsements or health permits. Your team reviews them and marks them Organizer reviewed.

Can a town or campus buy this without a long procurement process?

The Town and campus plan is $999 a year for unlimited festivals, which is under the federal micro-purchase threshold ($15,000 since October 2025, FAR 2.101) and small enough for many towns' purchasing cards. Check your own single-purchase limit. We provide a W-9, non-renewing purchase-order invoicing, and plain HTML pages built to meet WCAG 2.2 AA ahead of the DOJ ADA Title II deadlines (April 2027 and April 2028). For a quote or W-9, email [email protected].

What happens after the festival ends?

Your page stays live all year. It keeps this year's archive, collects next year's vendor and sponsor interest, sends Monday sponsor reports with one-click renewal, and can run a year-round patron club.
